I've been shooting photography about as long as I can remember, but it's a hobby that's waxed and waned over the years as life has gotten busy with school (I'm a full-time student at Michigan Technological University, majoring in psychology & taking pre-med), work, and so on. Over the last year and a half or so, I decided that I really wanted to get back into art more and I started looking around for what I wanted to focus on.

I already knew that I wanted to do more work with people, but I'm not interested in fashion/glamour, and documentary/photojournalism isn't quite my style, either. Also, ever since taking photo classes at my previous college (Northwestern Michigan College, in my home town of Traverse City, Michigan), I'd fallen in love with shooting film, developing, and spending hours on end printing in the darkroom. Having been without access to a darkroom for the last few years, I've been itching to get back into film.

At some point, while browsing DeviantArt for inspiration, I stumbled across the work of the incredible Jan Scholtz (aka, micmojo) and fell in love with his work—it had everything I was looking for and more. Since then, I've started talking with friends about modeling, gotten out my old 35mm cameras, and started looking around on craigslist for darkroom equipment.

Currently, I'm still working a lot in digital, but I'm hoping to be shooting mostly film soon (hopefully black & white and colour).
